Upwine

Upwine is a Terrassa-based winetech company that builds interactive wine-tasting software for wineries, distributors, restaurants, wine clubs and wine-tourism operators. Its platform runs on tablets and computers and lets a host guide an in-person or online tasting. Attendees rate and comment on each wine's appearance, aroma and flavour in real time, and receive tailored recommendations and a tasting summary by email, which gives the organiser data on customer preferences. It is sold as a monthly subscription with no upfront fee or minimum term. Customers include Codorníu, Freixenet, Recaredo and Alútiz. Founded in 2019, the company raised a seed round of about €150,000 from the founders of the Enoturismo 360º portal (Turisme360) and business angels Carles Pons, Pol Santandreu and Alexander García to expand into Europe, the United States and Latin America.
