SSTAb Therapeutics
STAb Therapeutics is a Madrid-based biotechnology company that develops next-generation cell immunotherapies for haematological and solid cancers. Its STAb-T platform combines adoptive cell therapy with bispecific antibodies: engineered T cells secrete T-cell engagers in situ, which direct both the modified T cells and nearby unmodified T cells against tumour cells. Its lead candidate, STAb-T19, targets CD19-positive B-cell leukaemias and lymphomas and has received AEMPS approval for a first-in-human clinical trial. Founded in 2022 as a spin-off of the Research Institute of Hospital 12 de Octubre (imas12), with support from the CRIS Cancer Foundation, the company has been funded through non-dilutive public grants, including €335k from CDTI's NEOTEC 2024 programme and support from the Community of Madrid and Spain's State Research Agency.
