Sanifit
Sanifit (Laboratoris Sanifit S.L.) was a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company founded in Palma de Mallorca as a spin-off of the University of the Balearic Islands, developing SNF472 (hexasodium fytate), a calcification inhibitor for calciphylaxis and peripheral artery disease in end-stage kidney disease patients. It reached Series D, raising roughly €130M+ total, including a €72.2M round in 2019 that was then Spain's largest private biotech fundraise. Sanifit no longer exists as an independent company: it was acquired by Vifor Pharma in 2021 for €205M upfront (up to €375M plus milestones), and Vifor was subsequently absorbed into CSL.
