Miramoon Pharma is a Spanish biotech developing small-molecule neuroprotective drugs that stabilise intracellular calcium and protect cells against oxidative stress, aiming to halt or slow degeneration in rare and neurodegenerative disorders. Its lead candidate MP-004, a novel FKBP12 ligand, targets retinitis pigmentosa and other inherited retinal diseases, with additional programmes in skeletal/cardiac muscle disease and CNS conditions such as ALS. Founded in 2019 as a spin-off of the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and the Biogipuzkoa (formerly Biodonostia) Health Research Institute, it is seed/angel-stage and backed by Banco Sabadell's BStartup10 and Pinama Inversiones. It is headquartered in Donostia-San Sebastián.
