Microviable Therapeutics
Microviable Therapeutics is a Spanish preclinical-stage biotech spun out of the IPLA institute of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) in Gijón, Asturias, developing biological drugs derived from the human gut microbiota. Its PharmaBiota platform produces both complete microbiota ecosystem products (lead candidate MVT-201, aimed at multidrug-resistant infection) and defined bacterial consortia for oncology, infectious disease and dermatology, and it also commercialises the GutAlive anaerobic microbiome sampling kit sold in ~15 countries. It raised €1.5M in seed funding in April 2022 led by the private medical group Inmunomet and celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2026.
