Colibid was a Valencia-based Spanish fintech that ran the first mortgage auction/bidding platform, letting banks and brokers compete to offer users the best mortgage terms; it later launched an AI SaaS tool, Extracto.io. Founded in 2021, it processed over €5B in mortgage applications and grew fast, but never reached profitability and shut down (filed for insolvency/concurso de acreedores) around February 2026, citing Spanish banking commission structures and over-regulation.
