Pulmobiotics

Pulmobiotics is a Barcelona-based preclinical synthetic biology company developing engineered live biotherapeutic products (LBPs) for severe respiratory diseases, using a genetically attenuated Mycoplasma pneumoniae chassis that colonizes the lung and secretes therapeutic proteins locally. Spun out of the Centre for Genomic Regulation (CRG) in 2020, it has raised about €7M in equity and non-dilutive funding (a €2M seed from Invivo Ventures plus grants) and its lead program PB_LC is an inhaled therapy for non-small-cell lung cancer patients refractory to immunotherapy; the company has been reported to be raising a ~€12.5M Series A to reach first-in-human trials.
