NNaeco Fibers
Naeco Fibers manufactures 100% recycled polyester fiber and geotextile matting from post-consumer PET waste (bottles, trays, textiles) at an integrated plant in Olloniego, Oviedo (Asturias, Spain), with three product lines — solid, hollow and conjugated hollow fiber — sold into automotive, geotextiles, textiles, construction, hygiene, healthcare and filtration. It is not a venture-backed startup but an industrial joint venture created in June 2022 between Asturian circular-economy group Naeco (formerly Nortpalet) and Korean polyester-fiber producer Mecen IPC, backed by an €11M investment plan and a commitment to create 42 jobs over five years. It has no VC or growth-equity investors; its funding comes from regional public and quasi-public instruments.
