Coometas is a Spanish social-impact foodtech that digitalises food aid: NGOs and third-sector entities issue digital vouchers through its app, and beneficiaries use the credit to shop for what they choose at partner neighbourhood businesses (supermarkets, butchers, fishmongers, greengrocers) instead of receiving pre-packed food boxes. Founded as 'Encantado de Comerte' (originally 'Nice to eat you') around 2018-2019 in Zaragoza to fight food waste in local food retail, it pivoted to digitalising the Spanish third sector and rebranded to Coometas; the operating company is Virtual Web Agroframe S.L., registered in Bilbao. It closed a ~€600K seed round in 2024 (crowdfunding plus participatory loans) and reported €1.1M revenue in 2023, an 8x year-on-year increase.
