Akka (formerly Blast Angels) is a private investment club, not a traditional VC fund, that lets retail members co-invest via SPVs in vetted early-stage and pre-IPO startups starting from as little as €300. It screens over 5,000 startups a year and selects roughly 1%, operating across Spain, France, Italy and the Nordics; its Madrid-based Spanish arm, launched December 2023 by Pedro Buerbaum and Thomas Rebaud, has channeled close to €9M into companies such as Quixotic and Rhyde. Investment opportunities are managed under regulated entity Blast Angels Europe SAS, authorized as a crowdfunding provider by the French AMF.
