GreyHounders is a Madrid-based optical brand that designs and sells its own prescription glasses, sunglasses and contact lenses direct to consumers, cutting out intermediaries to offer frames with prescription lenses from €49. It sells online with augmented-reality virtual try-on and at-home try-on, and runs its own optical stores in Madrid that provide eye exams, lens replacement and appointment booking; it also ships online to France, the United Kingdom, Germany and the Netherlands. The company was founded in 2018 by Marta Frenna, Juanjo Ruano and Marco Resino. It took part in the Lanzadera accelerator and Demium, raised a €200,000 first round in 2019 led by the G8i business-angel network and METXA Inversiones, and in 2022 closed a €500,000 round led by Poniente Capital with participation from Gregarious Seeds. It had sales of €340,000 in 2021 and passed €1 million in 2022.
