MMicroverse
Microverse is an online school that trains software developers around the world through a remote, peer-to-peer learning model in which students collaborate in distributed teams, then connects graduates with international remote jobs. Its business model rests on income share agreements, so students pay no tuition until they are hired, and it has enrolled learners in more than 100 countries, with graduates placed at companies such as Microsoft, Huawei and VMware. Founded in 2017 by Ariel Camus and a Y Combinator alumnus (S19), the San Francisco-based company raised a $3.2M seed round led by General Catalyst with participation from Y Combinator, Soma Capital, Liquid 2 Ventures, Hack VC and Fifty Years. In 2021 it closed a $12.5M Series A led by Northzone with General Catalyst and All Iron Ventures, later extended by $4M with Rubio Impact Ventures and new investor True Equity, bringing the Series A to $16.5M.
