Hangry
Hangry is a Madrid-based start-up that turns ride-hailing vehicles and taxis (Uber, Cabify, VTC and taxi fleets) into mobile retail and sampling points. Passengers scan a QR code to get free samples or buy snacks, drinks, beauty products and accessories during the ride, while brands get a new distribution and advertising channel plus data on demographics, purchase timing and consumer feedback. Consumer-goods brands including Kellogg's, Mondelez International, Red Bull, L'Oréal and Perrier have used the platform, and the service ran in Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia. The company was founded in 2018 by IE Business School MBA alumni, went through Juan Roig's Lanzadera accelerator, and in January 2020 closed a €1 million seed round from Demium Startups, Sego Finance and Archipélago Next, with business angels Martín Varsavsky and Félix Ruiz.
