EEkarpen Private Equity
Ekarpen Private Equity is a Bilbao-based public-private investment company, founded in 2008 by the Basque Government, the Basque savings banks and the three Basque provincial governments, whose Government stake is now held through the Instituto Vasco de Finanzas. It takes minority stakes and provides convertible participating loans to established and innovative industrial companies with their assets, decision-making centres or significant operations in the Basque Country, supporting consolidation, growth, internationalisation, innovation and succession. It typically invests €10–40M per operation, and its initial capital was €100M. Its portfolio includes CIE Automotive, Gestamp, Talgo, Tubos Reunidos, Arteche, Cegasa, Haizea Wind Group, Basquevolt, Multiverse Computing, Sherpa.ai, Oncomatryx and Lookiero.
