Rakuten Capital is the corporate venture capital arm of Rakuten Group, the Tokyo-based internet services conglomerate. It invests globally across North America, Europe, Asia and South America, from early stage through growth rounds. Its focus sectors include fintech, mobility, enterprise software, consumer, healthcare, data/AI and sustainability, and it gives portfolio companies operational support and access to data through Rakuten's ecosystem of more than 70 services. It has backed more than 90 companies, including Careem, Carousell, GoTo, Lyft, Pinterest and Upstart.
