DDummy Rescue
Dummy Rescue, developed by the Spanish company JRMD LAB, S.L., builds an integrated system for maritime search and rescue (SAR). The system combines a biomimetic, sensor-equipped dummy that behaves like a person in the water with an AI-powered digital twin, hybrid IoT and satellite communications, and drift prediction. It is used to simulate incidents, track positions in real time and narrow search areas. Its customers include maritime rescue services, coast guards, navies and fishing fleets, for both training and live operations, and the company holds patents on its SAR simulation and prediction technology. It ran a technical and economic feasibility study, targeting technology readiness levels 5-6, through the EDIH Madrid Region 2.0 'Test Before Invest' programme with the Centre for Automation and Robotics (CAR CSIC-UPM).
