BB'ZEOS
B'ZEOS is a blue-tech company that develops seaweed-based packaging materials to replace fossil-fuel plastics. It makes bio-based, home-compostable pellets containing up to 80% seaweed extracts. The pellets run on existing industrial machinery without changes and are used for flexible films, flowpacks, pouches, trays and blisters. Founded in Norway in 2018 by Guy Maurice, the company is now headquartered in Nyon, Switzerland, with its R&D team at the Barcelona Science Park, and has completed five paid pilots with industry partners including Nestlé. It received pre-seed backing from biotope by VIB and the Sustainable Ocean Alliance. In November 2024 it closed a seed round led by Faber with ICIG Ventures, which took its total equity and grant funding past €5 million.
