PPensium
Pensium is a Spanish fintech that lets families pay for elderly care — a private nursing-home place or an at-home caregiver — by advancing money against the future rental income of the dependent person's home, without a mortgage, guarantees or selling the property. It renovates and rents out the property, guarantees the rent, and advances up to double the rental value; the entities Pensium SL and Pensium Direct SL are registered with the Bank of Spain as real-estate credit intermediaries/lenders (codes D037/D036) and the company is a certified B Corp. Founded in 2016 in Barcelona with a Madrid office on Paseo de la Castellana, it raised a €3.7M round in December 2021, launched a social-bond programme of up to €200M with EBN Banco in 2022, passed 500 rentals under management in 2025, and won the Insurance Innovation category of the Fundación MAPFRE Social Innovation Awards in 2020.
