SSyra Coffee
Syra Coffee is a Spanish specialty coffee company that operates a chain of small, design-led take-away coffee shops (~40-45 locations across Barcelona, Madrid, Valencia, Seville, Málaga, Bilbao, Girona and San Sebastián) plus Spain's largest specialty roastery and a D2C/e-commerce beans business. Founded in Barcelona in 2015 by architect Yassir Raïs, it grew without franchising and raised roughly €1.5M across three rounds from itnig, Inveready, Turtle Capital and angels including Factorial's Jordi Romero and Bernat Farrero, Glovo's Oscar Pierre, Kantox's Philippe Gelis and footballers such as Alexia Putellas and Sergi Roberto. In August-September 2025 Colombia's Grupo Lux (Organización Ardila Lülle, via Mérica Foods) took majority control by buying out the Catalan family offices and injecting capital; Pedro Bouza became chairman while Raïs stayed on as CEO, targeting 100 stores within three years.
