Miscota is a Spanish pet retailer that began in January 2012 in Mataró (Barcelona) as miscota.es, an online store selling food, accessories and care products for dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles and small mammals, and grew into one of Europe's largest online pet retailers with sales across Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Portugal and other markets. It raised roughly €1M in seed capital in 2012 and later became part of the Bilua e-commerce group (alongside Carethy and Wellindal) before being spun back out. Miscota is no longer an independent VC-backed startup — in May 2023 CrazyPet acquired a majority stake and the two merged under Grupo Ibérica, creating Spain's second-largest pet retail group (~81 stores, ~400 employees, ~€60M turnover), and its HQ is now in Valencia.
