Ona Capital is a Catalan venture capital firm (registered SCR) exclusively owned and backed by entrepreneurial families — the Font family (Bon Preu/Bonpreu supermarket group) and the Carandell family (Benito Urban) — investing in seed and growth-stage startups. It focuses on transformative, high-growth companies mainly in Southern Europe/Catalonia across tech, energy, consumer/retail and industrial sectors, and runs D-ONA, a dedicated investment line backing women-led startups. Founded in 2007 and based in Manlleu (Barcelona province), it has made roughly 40-50 investments to date, including Parlem Telecom, Tropicfeel, The Colvin Co and Solfy.
