noctuRNA Therapeutics is a Barcelona-based biotech company developing therapies based on artificial circular RNA (circRNA) for diseases that currently have no cure. Its patented drug platform designs circRNA molecules that target and disrupt the RNA structures that drive disease, producing new drug candidates in two to four weeks. The preclinical pipeline covers myotonic dystrophy type 1, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), other neurodegenerative diseases and RNA-virus infections such as SARS-CoV-2, dengue, West Nile virus and hepatitis. The company was founded in December 2022 as a spin-off of Universitat Pompeu Fabra. It has raised an early round of about €663k and has public R&D funding from CDTI (Neotec 2025), ACCIÓ and Torres Quevedo grants.
