Cebiotex is a Barcelona-based, Phase 2 clinical-stage biotechnology company that develops implantable, biodegradable nanofiber membranes for the local, sustained release of anti-tumor drugs directly at surgical resection sites, aiming to reduce cancer recurrence. Its lead candidate, CEB-01 (loaded with SN-38), has received EMA Orphan Drug Designation for pancreatic cancer and has been used in first-in-human studies in retroperitoneal sarcoma. Founded in 2012 as a spin-off of UPC and Hospital Sant Joan de Déu Barcelona; Joan Torrejon was appointed CEO in October 2025, with co-founder Joan Bertran moving to Chairman of the Board.
