Nanobots Therapeutics
Nanobots Therapeutics is a Barcelona-based biotech spin-off of the Institute for Bioengineering of Catalonia (IBEC) and ICREA, founded in January 2023 out of Prof. Samuel Sánchez's Smart Nano-Bio Devices lab. It develops the MotionTx platform of self-propelled, enzyme-powered nanoparticles ('nanobots') that actively swim through tissue to improve drug penetration and accumulation in solid tumours, with lead candidate NBT-101 for non-muscle-invasive bladder cancer and NBT-102 for colorectal cancer. The company closed a €478,000 pre-seed in 2023 and a first ~€1M tranche of its seed round in December 2024; it is headquartered at Barcelona Science Park.
