Axis is the venture capital and private equity management company wholly owned by Spain's state-owned bank, Instituto de Crédito Oficial (ICO). It manages a family of public-private funds (Fond-ICO Global, Fond-ICO Next Tech, Fond-ICO Crecimiento, Fond-ICO Infraestructuras ESG), investing both directly and as a fund-of-funds across seed to growth stages in sectors spanning B2B, healthcare, digital tech scale-ups, and infrastructure/ESG. Founded in 1986, it was Spain's first registered venture capital manager (CNMV registry #1) and has committed more than €12 billion across its funds, having backed 280+ companies and funds to date.
